The other type is passive stretches. To do this Some examples of active stretching are deep knee bends, lunges, side lunges and shoulder and arm circles. These stretches activate your muscles, increase your heart rate and prepare you for your workout. Stretching is important in the gym, so you should be aware of the different types of stretching and which type is best to use before and after routines. You should never underestimate the importance of stretching before beginning a light or heavy cardio workout because it prepares your muscles for heavy training. Both types of stretches are important and, if used correctly, can maximize your post-workout recovery.
