Jimmie Walker's comedy show Saturday night has been canceled because of poor ticket sales, Thornton Mason, SUA concerts chairman, said yesterday. Jimmy Walker show cut "We sold somewhere under 1,000 tickets—16, to be exact," Mason said. bands to appear in the Hawk's Nest in the Kansas Union on Friday and Saturday nights, Mason said. SUA isn't losing money by canceling the show, he said, but it will have to pay its own expenses and any that Walker's management may have incurred. Mason said SUA would have lost more money if the show hadn't been canceled. "The idea of the Nest flipped," he said. "No one was interested in live bands. We can't compete with places like Shenanigan's." SUA has also stopped scheduling live next semester the Hawk's Nest will be used occasionally by SUA as a small concert facility instead of being run on a weekly basis, he said, and the band appear more often in the last SUA-sponsored show in the Hawk's Nest this semester.
