KU Debate Team will conduct an
audience debate about the Persian Gulf crisis at 112 Blake Hall. The debate will begin at 7 tonight, and no one will be allowed in the room after the debate begins. It is open to the public.
- Orthodox Christians on Campus will meet for a lecture about the Orthodox view of Advent at 7:30 in Oread Room in the Kansas Union.
KU Triathletes will have an organizational meeting at 7:30 tonight at the Burge Union Party Room.
Gay and Lesbian Services of Kansas will have its last meeting of the semester at 7:30 tonight at the Pioneer Room in the Burge Union.
A front window of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, 1645 Tennessee St., was broken at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, Lawrence police reported.
Police report
A stereo and five cassettes valued together at $85 were taken between midnight and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday from a KU student's car in the 1700 block of West 24th Street, Lawrence police reported.
A KU student's car was damaged by 7:30 p.m. Monday and 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Northwest 46th Street, a police reported. Damage totaled $50.
- A glass light cover valued at $300 was broken between 5:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday at a tunnel under Naimshim Drive, KU police reported.
Financial aid office will test telephone answering system

The Office of Student Financial Aio will be testing a new phone answering system next week, said Anna Sauer, the telecommunications department.

The system will be used to answer general financial aid questions, said Diane Del Buono, associate director for the office.

The University of Kansas will be using an automated attendant system. The office will run a one-week students and parents will participate.
Del Buono said the system would include several messages that would provide general information about financial aid, including when financial aid forms were due and the status of a student's financial aid.
If all office lines are busy when an individual calls, the system will activate and the individual will choose numbers on a touch-tone telephone.
If the individual does not have a touch-one telephone, the person will be asked to hold until a member of staff is available to speak with the caller.
