Financial aid office will test telephone answering system Kansan staff writer The Office of Student Financial Aio will be testing a new phone answering system next week, said Anna Sauer, the telecommunications department. By Karen Park The system will be used to answer general financial aid questions, said Diane Del Buono, associate director for the office. other financial aid officials throughout the United States to get ideas about how to run the system. Del Buono said she spoke with The University of Kansas will be using an automated attendant system. The office will run a one-week students and parents will participate. Del Buono said the system would include several messages that would provide general information about financial aid, including when financial aid forms were due and the status of a student's financial aid. If all office lines are busy when an individual calls, the system will activate and the individual will choose numbers on a touch-tone telephone. If the individual does not have a touch-one telephone, the person will be asked to hold until a member of staff is available to speak with the caller.
