Police report
A purse, wallet, cash and sunglasses valued together at $463 were taken between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 12:00 a.m. Saturday from a KU student's car in the 1200 block of Kentucky Street, Lawrence police reported. The passenger window was broken, causing $300 damage.
A backpack, calculator, textbook and cash valued together at $240 were taken between 12:45 and 8:15 a.m. Friday from a KU student's car in the 1400 block of Applegate Court, Lawrence police reported.
Stereo equipment valued at $370 was taken between midnight Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday from a KU
A compact disc player, seven or eight compact discs, 10-12 cassettes and a basketball valued together at $430 were taken between 11 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday from a KU student's car in the 2400 block of Alabama Street, Lawrence police reported.

An engineering fee will be used by the school to maintain, operate and replace laboratory equipment, including computers. About two thirds of the money generated by the fee will be distributed to individual departments in the school. For most of the departments, the money will be used for laboratory equipment.
