Sophomore forward Marcus Morris led the Jayhawks with 18 points and eight rebounds. Senior guard Sherron Collins and freshman guard Xavier Henry each chipped in with 15 points.
Kansas rolls to big victory against Texas
Kansas outrebounded Texas 45-34 and held the Longhorns to 37.3 percent shooting.With the victory, the Jayhawks improved to 23-1 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
The Kansas Jayhawks used a big first-half run to put away the Texas Longhorns on Monday night. Kansas rolled to an 80-68 victory after outscoring the Longhorns 22-0 to gain a 30-14 advantage.
Texas was led by freshman guard J'Covan Brown, who finished with 28 points. Senior forward Damion James added 24 points for the Longhorns, who fell to 5-4 in Big 12 play and 19-5 overall.
With the win, the Jayhawks have a comfortable lead in the Big 12 Conference race. As of Monday, Kansas State and Texas A&M are tied for second place. The Wildcats and the Aggies each have 6-3 records in league play.
