P Darlin Simmons was the nation's sixth best punter. Against Oklahoma, he ran 45 yards on a fake punt to set up a touchdown. WR Ashaunel Smith was the big play receiver this season who made a diving 48-yard catch versus Oklahoma. Thad Warren, FS, came to KU as a walk-on and got most of his playing time as a special teams performer. Mark Williams, QB, was 9-2 this season as a a starter.
