Roger Shimomura, KU professor of art. Tony T. Allard, Lawrence resident and Paul Stephen Lim, KU News Briefs lecturer in English, will receive their awards on Feb. 5 in Topeka. The Kansas Legislature appropriated $450,000 of letter-generated money to the commission, which gave nine fellowships statewide. Awards were presented in nine categories of art, and 178 artists applied. Lim won the playwriting category. Shimomura, who has been teaching drawing and painting at KU for two dimensional visual art category. Allard won the fellowship in the category of new genre. Ecumenical Christian Ministries will show the movie "I Have Dream: In Remembrance of Martin" at 7:30 p.m. today at the ECM building, 1204 Oread. The movie, drinks and popcorn are free. On Campus Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship will meet at 7 p.m. today in the Pioneer Room of the Burge Union. Environs will have an information table set up 9 a.m.4.p.m. Monday and Tuesday on the fourth floor of the Kansas Union. The newsletter and information on recycling, conservation and styrofloorm will be available. ■ KU Bible Study will hold a worship service at 10:30 a.m. m. Sunday in the Jayhawk Room of the Kansas Union. Tickets are $3 in advance and $4 at the door and are available at the Environs table in the Union.** The KU Society for Fantasy and Science Fiction will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Walnut Room of the Kansas Union. The Lonesome Hounddogs, Parlor Frogs and Baghdad Jones will play. The Museum of Anthropology presents the exhibit "Kansas City Locality: A Prehistoric Frontier." This collection contains prehistoric American Indian pottery, pipes, figurines and bone and stone tools found in the Kansas City area. The exhibit will run through March 3.
