Friday, October 28, 1988 / University Daily Kansan News Briefs EQUIPMENT THEFT: Two suspects escaped after apparently dropping $1.25 in electrical equipment owned by KANU-FM, which had been taken from room 250 at Hoch Auditorium, KU police said. LJ. Leanne Longaker, KU police spokesman, said two KU students called police at about 12:40 a.m. yesterday after seeing two men apparently hiding in the building. When the Militia approached the area the suspects ran around the east side of Summerfield Hall. Police then found the equipment, including two stereo speakers, a cassette player, a telephone and a telephone answering machine. Damage to the equipment was estimated at $450. PROSECUTER RESIGNS: Nadine Martinez, who was hired as the Lawrence city prosecutor in July, resigned last week. Lawrence assis-ist a city manager Mike Wildengad Wilden said Martinez had notified him of her resignation by telephone Oct. 20 but that he had not received written confirmation. Jerry Little, Martinez' predecessor succeeds prosecutor until the position is filled. Martinez could not be reached for mement. Martinez could not be a comment. **ADDITIONS:** Auditions for the Kansas men's basketball band are scheduled for Nov. 1-3. Any KU student is eligible to participate in the band.
