Arthur Jellison photograph collection

Arthur Asa Jellison was born August 31, 1894 in Wilson, Kansas, the son of Charles Reynard and Iva Bertha (Humphrey) Jellison. He attended the University of Kansas. He owned a photography studio in Wilson, taking studio portraits of individuals and families for events including births and baptisms, child portraits, weddings, naturalization photographs, confirmation or first communion celebrations, and graduations. In the 1950s and 1960s at least, Jellison also took photographs for yearbooks and annuals for some of the area schools.

This collection consists of negatives and some prints and correspondence from the photographic studio of Arthur Asa Jellison, who worked and lived in Wilson, Ellsworth County, Kansas in the first half of the 20th century. Individuals photographed in the collection came from Wilson, Dorrance, Ellsworth, Redwing, Corning, Bennington, Claflin, Kanopolis, Dubuque, Holyrood, and Sylvan Grove, Kansas.
