Alternate name on piece: Phasanius shawi [Shaw's pheasant], The drawing shows some of the characteristics of Wolf (cf. Gould 0827) and is certainly far more lively than the published plate., Layout drawing in charcoal, quite well finished for the medium. Title in pencil by Sotheran, bookseller.
