Volume one introduces the origin of falconry practice in Japan; i.e., “Sake no kimi” from Kudara (Baekje) came to Japan in the 46th year under the reign of the Emperor Nintoku. He accompanied the Emperor while hunting and captured pheasants using falcons. Volume two discusses medical treatments for hawks
