William Shockley is escorted from the Military Science Building by February First Movement protesters, Vice Chancellor Del Shankel, and Captain B.L. Ellison. February First Movement members disrupted classes at the Military Science Building where Shockley was scheduled to speak with the Sachem Circle Omicron Delta Kappa. Shockley believed African Americans were less intelligent than white people and that they should voluntarily undergo sterilization.
